Ifelodun Chairman Urges Media to Report Local Projects

Hadj Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, the Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, called on the media to report on development projects and interventions at the grassroots level while also holding the government accountable for shortcomings. Speaking at the 49th edition of the Media Parliament, Yusuf highlighted the critical role of the media in informing the public about local government activities that may not receive national attention.

He urged journalists to cover various projects, including rural roads, renovated classrooms, and improved healthcare facilities, emphasizing their significant impact on communities. Yusuf stated that constructive criticism is essential in democracy and that elected officials must remain open to it.

He described his administration's philosophy of "Ifelodun First," which focuses on prioritizing the needs of the people. By engaging with traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders, his administration aims to bring governance closer to the communities and ensure that development stories are effectively communicated.
