Tinubu Returns to Nigeria, Declares Health and Readiness

President Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on September 30 after spending approximately four weeks in Europe, primarily in Paris, France, for a working vacation. Upon his arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, he declared himself "healthy, sound, and ready to work." Tinubu dismissed rumors regarding his health, stating, “I’m ready to kick, ready to work, there is nothing wrong.” His return comes amid public and political scrutiny over his extended absence, particularly regarding his decision not to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Presidency maintained that Tinubu remained engaged with state affairs during his time abroad. Vice President Kashim Shettima led the Nigerian delegation to the UN General Assembly, representing Tinubu at several high-level engagements.

Tinubu expressed enjoyment during his time away, reinforcing his readiness to resume his presidential duties.
