Igboho Awaits Approval for Security Initiative in S'West

Sundai Igboho, a Yoruba nation activist, announced that he is still awaiting approval from the federal government to implement the Iru Ekun Security Network aimed at dislodging criminal elements from the forests in South West Nigeria. He made this statement in Ibadan, Oyo State, highlighting the necessity of submitting required documentation to the federal government.

This initiative follows an executive order signed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on May 20, 2023, which regulates private security firms in the state. The order aims to ensure that security-related activities are conducted within a clear legal framework to support peace and order.

Igboho expressed readiness to collaborate with the police, the Nigerian Army, and other relevant stakeholders to combat threats such as terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry that endanger rural communities. He commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to addressing insecurity in the South West region and emphasized the importance of peace for socio-economic development.
