Balotelli Backs Ghana for 2026 FIFA World Cup Support

Mario Balotelli, a former Italian international footballer, has announced his support for the Ghana national team, known as the Black Stars, in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. This decision comes after Italy failed to qualify for the tournament.

Balotelli, 35, expressed his pride in supporting Ghana, highlighting his connection to the country through his Ghanaian immigrant family. He was born Mario Barwuah in Palermo, Sicily, and his family moved to Bagnolo Mella in the Brescia province of Lombardy.

Balotelli has previously represented Italy in major tournaments, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Euro 2012, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Currently, he plays for Al Ittifaq FC in the UAE.

Ghana's recent performance in the World Cup saw them progress to the round of 32, finishing as one of the best third-placed teams in their group, which included England, Croatia, and Panama.
