INEC Launches Voter Registration Verification in Ondo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of a claims and objections exercise for registered voters in Ondo State, scheduled from Wednesday, April 29, 2026, to Tuesday, May 5, 2026. According to a statement issued by Ogunsey Olayinka, the head of the department of voter education and publicity on behalf of Dr.

Mutiu Agbok, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, the exercise aims to display the preliminary voter registration list daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM across 18 local government area offices in the state. This initiative is designed to allow individuals who have recently registered, applied for transfers, or wish to update their biodata to verify their details.

Additionally, it enables eligible persons to report omissions or errors in the registration process. The commission encourages public participation, particularly in raising objections against ineligible entries, such as underage registrants, deceased persons, and non-citizens whose names may appear on the preliminary voter registration list.
