Melaye Accuses INEC of Bias Against ADC in Protest

Dino Melaye, a former senator representing Kogi West and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He accused INEC of misinterpreting a court order, which he believes further weakens public confidence in the electoral process.

In a video posted on his social media, Melaye expressed serious concerns regarding INEC's impartiality and accountability in conducting elections. He suggested that the commission's alleged partiality could deepen distrust among political stakeholders and the public.

Melaye called for either the removal or resignation of the commission's officials due to these allegations. Additionally, David Mark, the interim national chairman of the ADC, led a protest at INEC headquarters, demanding the delisting of the party.

The protest involved notable opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
