INEC includes SDP candidates in race hours to by-election

INEC has included Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidates in the by-election race just hours before the election, following a report by DAILY POST. Initially, INEC had excluded the SDP from the race, citing a failure to submit a valid notice of primary election.

However, after the SDP claimed that their primary election was monitored by the commission, INEC decided to include their candidates following a court order. Sam Olumekun, the National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee at INEC, stated that the commission will comply with the court's judgment and ensure that the election in 12 states proceeds as scheduled.

INEC also mentioned that they reserve the right to appeal the decision.
