INEC Completes Training for Gombe Bye-Election Officials

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Gombe State has completed the training of Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs) in preparation for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026. The training began on Thursday, September 10, 2026, and aimed to equip the SPOs with essential knowledge and practical skills for the election's effective conduct.

Key training topics included the handling and deployment of electoral materials, polling procedures, operation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, the improved INEC Results Viewing Portal, election security, and practical election-day simulations. The trained SPOs are expected to pass on this training to Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers from September 14 to September 16, 2026, across the Gombe, Kwami, and Funakaye Local Government Areas.

Alhaji Umar Mukhtar Gajiram, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Gombe State, emphasized the commission's commitment to adequately train all personnel for the bye-election and urged registered voters to participate actively.
