Kogi APC Chieftain Urges Igala to Rethink Voting Strategy

Dr Mahmoud Bala Alfa, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kogi East, called on the Igala community to reassess their political strategy in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Speaking on the WhotNow Podcast on Saturday, September 12, he warned that the Igala's historical position on the sidelines of power has resulted in a loss of resources and influence.

Alfa argued that political participation is crucial for accessing resources and having a voice in decision-making processes. He criticized the community's "permanent opposition mentality," which he believes has hindered their ability to gain tangible benefits from government.

He advocated for a more proactive approach, urging the Igala to support political administrations in exchange for clear developmental commitments, while ensuring that such support is conditional. Alfa stressed the necessity for the Igala to be embedded in political structures at both state and national levels to effectively represent their interests.
