Information Minister Mohammed Idris Mourns Dotun Oladipo

Mohammed Idris, the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, expressed profound sadness over the death of veteran journalist Dotun Oladipo, who passed away on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, in Lagos at the age of 56. Idris characterized Oladipo’s death as a significant loss to Nigeria’s media industry, noting his nearly three-decade career in leading newspapers before founding The Eagle Online.

He described Oladipo as a dedicated journalist and media entrepreneur who made substantial contributions to Nigerian journalism, particularly in political reporting and digital publishing.
