Anka Residents Blame Governor for Rising Insecurity

Residents of Anka Local Government Area in Zamfara State have expressed their frustration towards Governor Dauda Lawal Dare for his inability to curb the rising tide of insecurity following a deadly assault in Dutsin Dan Ajiya village. The attack resulted in the deaths of 37 individuals and the abduction of 150 others.

Anonymously, residents lamented that the governor has not fulfilled his campaign promises to restore peace in the troubled state. They noted that insecurity has worsened, impacting their agricultural activities and leading to a shutdown of businesses.

A youth leader from the area emphasized the need for accountability and insisted that the community deserves protection. Residents called for urgent federal intervention to reinforce security operations in Zamfara and dismantle criminal networks operating in the forests.

They stressed the importance of coordinated efforts between state and federal authorities to restore confidence among traumatized communities in Anka.
