NSCDC Certifies 260 Private Guards in Abuja Training

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) certified 260 private guards during a passing-out parade at the newly commissioned FCT Command Training Ground in Abuja. This event marked the conclusion of a five-day refresher training course focused on modern security management.

Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the FCT Commandant of NSCDC, stated that the training was essential due to the increasingly complex and technology-driven security environment. He emphasized that private security operatives are vital stakeholders in Nigeria's national security system and often serve as the first line of observation and early warning.

The Commandant urged the newly certified guards to be vigilant, identify threats, manage access, and respond to emergencies effectively. He also called on private guard companies to ensure proper remuneration and working conditions for their personnel.

Dr. Odumosu stressed the importance of continuous training and collaboration between NSCDC and private security firms to enhance the security of critical national assets in the FCT.
