Melaye Demands Tinubu's Resignation Over Insecurity

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly urged President Bola Tinubu to resign, asserting that he cannot protect Nigerians amid escalating insecurity. Melaye criticized Tinubu for making empty promises and failing to address the perilous living conditions in Nigeria, where citizens face daily threats from kidnappers and terrorists.

He highlighted the alarming statistics of military casualties, noting that two brigade commanders were killed within five months, and lamented the government's inability to secure the nation. Melaye described the current situation as shameful, stating that Nigeria, despite being a major African nation, has resorted to begging for security assistance from countries like the United States and Turkey.

He emphasized that the safety of schools, homes, and places of worship is compromised, and called on Tinubu to acknowledge his failures and resign from office.
