Melaye Accuses Tinubu of Seeking Coronation, Not Elections

Dino Melaye, a former senator representing Kogi West, made allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that the president does not want elections to be held in 2027 and instead seeks a coronation. Melaye's comments were made during an appearance on Channels Television's political program, where he criticized the current political climate in Nigeria.

He expressed concerns that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, is becoming increasingly uneasy about the growing influence of the African Democratic Congress. Melaye warned that the situation goes beyond party politics and could have serious implications for Nigeria's democratic process.

His remarks came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) removed names from its official portal, which he claimed affected the leadership of the electoral body and the organization of conventions by political groups.
