Melaye Demands Tinubu's Resignation Over Insecurity Crisis

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has publicly urged President Tinubu to resign, attributing the call to the worsening security situation in Nigeria. In a video shared on social media, Melaye described the country's security status as "pitiful" and accused Tinubu of making empty promises while violence persists across the nation.

He highlighted the recent killings of senior military officers, including Brigadier Generals Musa Uba and Husseini Ibrahim, as evidence of the deteriorating security architecture under Tinubu's leadership. Melaye asserted that the current administration has lost its monopoly on legitimate use of force and criticized the government's reliance on external support for security operations, calling Nigeria a "beggar" for security assistance.

He emphasized that the people do not feel cared for by the government and expressed that Tinubu's administration has woefully failed in its primary responsibility to ensure the security and welfare of the populace.
