Sokoto Security Adviser Calls for Unity Against Banditry

Col. Ahmed Usman, the Special Adviser on Security Matters to Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, called for unity among political leaders and stakeholders in the fight against banditry in Sokoto State. In a statement made on Sunday, Usman responded to comments from opposition politicians regarding the state's security situation, stressing that insecurity should not be politicized.

He pointed out that bandits do not discriminate based on political party affiliation when attacking victims, highlighting the need for a collective approach to address insecurity. Usman acknowledged the right of opposition politicians to voice their opinions but urged them to contribute positively to security efforts.

He praised Senator Aliyu Wamakko for his ongoing support for victims of banditry and his engagement with individuals and institutions to combat insecurity. Usman encouraged collaboration among political leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and the public to enhance security and called for credible information to be shared with security agencies.
