Lawmaker Urges Intensified Fight Against Insecurity in Nigeria

Philip Agbes, a lawmaker representing the Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in Benue State, called on Nigerian security agencies to intensify their campaign against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. In a statement made on Monday, Agbes noted that the Nigerian Armed Forces had achieved significant success in June 2026, neutralizing 129 terrorists, arresting 486 suspects, rescuing 542 kidnapping victims, and recovering 130 firearms along with 5,538 rounds of ammunition.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among security agencies to effectively confront criminal elements and reduce insecurity across the country. Agbes urged citizens to support military efforts by providing timely information and rejecting collaboration with criminal groups.

He expressed confidence that sustained support and strong leadership would maintain operational momentum and lead to further peace achievements in Nigeria.
