Inter Lagos FC Secures NPFL Promotion After Draw

Inter Lagos FC confirmed their promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) following a 1-1 draw against Smart City FC on Monday night at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. This result allowed Inter Lagos to secure first place in the Nigeria National League (NNL) with a total of 29 points from 15 matches.

The promotion means that Inter Lagos FC will join the ranks of the NPFL alongside Ikorodu City FC, which has already been competing in the top flight. The NNL confirmed that four teams would be promoted this season, with Inter Lagos becoming the second team to achieve this after Doma United FC.

The club's chairman, Lanre Vigo, expressed his emotions following the final whistle of the match, marking a significant achievement for the Lagos-based team as they prepare for the upcoming Super 4 playoffs.
