Peter Obi Addresses NDC Disagreements, Files Lawsuit

Peter Obi, a prominent figure in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), spoke on Tuesday about the normalcy of internal disagreements within political parties, emphasizing that such tensions do not indicate a structural breakdown. He noted that these disputes are typically resolved over time and are common across political organizations.

Obi responded to concerns raised by party members, including Aisha Yusuf, regarding differing opinions within the party. He stressed the importance of accountability and scrutiny of political leaders to ensure integrity and competence.

Additionally, Obi filed a 5 billion naira defamation lawsuit against Kenneth Okonkwo, who had made critical remarks about Obi's political decisions during a television interview. Okonkwo accused Obi of corruption and questioned the legitimacy of his political dealings, including allegations of bribery related to the party's primary selection process.
