Fasawe Honors Mothers' Sacrifices on International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day, Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, the Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration Health Services Environment Secretariat, visited Kuje General Hospital to acknowledge the sacrifices made by mothers who care for their sick relatives in hospital wards.

During her visit, she commended these women for their unwavering dedication, often sacrificing their own comfort and routines to provide emotional support and hope to patients. Fasawe emphasized that while these mothers may not be medical professionals or on the hospital payroll, their presence and care offer something that medicine alone cannot provide—love and comfort during vulnerable moments.

She noted that many mothers spend nights on hospital benches, skip meals, and trade their warm beds for plastic chairs in hospital corridors, acting as crucial emotional support systems for their loved ones. The visit was part of the celebration of International Women’s Day, which recognizes the achievements and contributions of women worldwide and advocates for gender equality and women's empowerment.
