Ireland Exempts Visa Fees for Citizens of 16 Countries

Ireland's Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration has released a list of 16 countries whose citizens are exempt from paying visa application fees when seeking entry to Ireland, effective in 2026. The exemption includes nationals from regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, the Western Balkans, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

The 16 exempted nationalities are: Bosnia, Côte d'Ivoire, Ecuador, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Peru, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zambia. While these citizens do not have to pay the visa fee, they are still required to apply for a visa or preclearance if needed.

The exemption specifically applies to the fee component of the visa application process, which includes single-entry and multi-entry visas. Travellers from these countries are advised to verify current requirements for their specific travel purposes before submitting applications.
