ISN Medical Plans African Expansion and Local Manufacturing

ISN Medical, led by Managing Director and CEO Felix Ofungwu, is focusing on expanding its operations across Africa and enhancing local manufacturing of medical products. During a hybrid media briefing in Lagos, Ofungwu discussed the challenges in Nigeria's healthcare market, which include low health insurance coverage and high out-of-pocket expenses for patients.

He noted that 90% of patients pay for treatment directly, making the sector highly price-sensitive. ISN Medical operates under internationally recognized standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, and supplies diagnostic equipment and consumables to laboratories and hospitals.

The company supports disease research and manages chronic illnesses, including diabetes and hypertension. Ofungwu stated that ISN Medical is already present in four countries and serves customers in 21 African countries.

The next phase of growth will focus on strengthening local operations and expanding the consumer healthcare portfolio. Rodolph Vetchen, Director of Life Sciences at ISN Medical, emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in modern genomics to improve healthcare delivery and reduce treatment costs.
