Israel Strengthens Ties with Nigeria in Key Sectors

Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, reaffirmed Israel's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Nigeria across key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, security, education, and skill development. This announcement was made during the celebration of Israel's 78th Independence Anniversary in Abuja.

Freeman emphasized Nigeria's vast potential, highlighting its youthful population, entrepreneurial spirit, cultural richness, and agricultural resources. He noted the importance of innovation and announced the launch of the fifth cohort program in 2027, aimed at transforming innovative ideas into viable business capabilities to create jobs and address real-world challenges.

Additionally, Nigeria's Minister of Art, Culture, and Tourism, Hannatu Musawa, described the long-standing partnership between Nigeria and Israel, emphasizing mutual respect and shared beliefs in community development. She also mentioned that despite geographical distance, both nations remain culturally connected.

The collaboration is seen as a significant opportunity to promote Nigeria's rich cultural identity and support the country's development agenda under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
