Israel Donates Ambulances and Medical Equipment to Nigeria

Israel has donated a first batch of ambulances, medical equipment, and wheelchairs to Nigeria, enhancing the country's healthcare and emergency response capabilities. The items were handed over at the Port of Ashdod, Israel, to Nigeria’s newly appointed Ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, who received them on behalf of Nigeria.

Ufochukwu assumed her diplomatic role just three weeks prior, following her credential presentation to Israeli President Isaac Herzog on August 3. This donation, facilitated by Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service, aims to improve emergency medical response and access to healthcare services, especially for vulnerable populations.

Ufochukwu expressed gratitude to the Israeli government and Magen David Adom, emphasizing the importance of this gesture in strengthening the friendship between the two nations. She noted that the cooperation in healthcare could lead to knowledge sharing and technology transfer, contributing to more resilient emergency medical systems.
