Itauma to Negotiate IBF Title Fight with Sanchez

Mose Itauma has been instructed to hold talks concerning a fight against Frank Sanchez for the vacant IBF heavyweight title. This directive comes after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished his IBF, WBA Super, and WBC belts last week.

The IBF, adhering to its championship rules, aims to arrange a bout between Sanchez, who is currently ranked number three in the heavyweight division, and Itauma, who has until July 29 to reach an agreement. The fight is scheduled to take place at the O2 Arena in London on August 29.

Itauma, who is 21 years old, is preparing for what is anticipated to be one of his toughest challenges, especially after his previous fight against Jermaine Franklin in Manchester in March. The IBF's decision follows Usyk's upgrade to the status of interim champion, with Agit Kabayel being named the champion after Usyk vacated the title.
