JAMB Opens NCE and Agricultural Programme Admissions Without UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has begun registration for Nigeria Certificate in Education and non-technological agricultural programmes…
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has unveiled a registration pathway for individuals applying to Nigeria Certificate in Education programmes offered through Colleges of Education, alongside non-technological agricultural diploma courses at polytechnics nationwide. Applicants pursuing this route have been exempted from taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, according to a Thursday announcement by Fabian Benjamin, the board's Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol.
Prospective applicants must demonstrate possession of the required O'Level subject passes to proceed. Registration facilities are available at any JAMB Professional Registration Centre throughout the country, or at Institutional Professional Registration Centres situated within Colleges of Education.
This pathway creates an alternative means of accessing higher education for those interested in teacher training or agricultural studies, bypassing the standard UTME route. The initiative specifically targets programmes in non-technological agriculture, distinguishing them from their technology-focused equivalents, which maintain separate entrance standards.
Individuals wishing to apply should present their secondary school credentials at any designated registration facility to complete their application, as outlined in the board's announcement. The board's communications did not specify when the registration period would conclude.
