JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Results for Underage Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results for candidates below the prescribed admission age. According to JAMB's Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocols, Fabian Benjamin, an underage candidate is defined as anyone under 16 years by September 30, 2026.

The results are intended for candidates, parents, and guardians to assess performance but do not guarantee admission. Only candidates demonstrating exceptional academic ability, with a minimum UTME score of 320 and at least 80% in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination subjects, will be considered for admission.

They must also meet Post-UTME requirements and undergo a final assessment. JAMB will allow candidates awaiting their National Examinations Council (NECO) results to present them for verification before final assessments.

The board cautioned against individuals promising admission outside approved procedures and reiterated that simply sitting for the UTME does not ensure admission for underage candidates.
