JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Results for Underage Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the release of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results for underage candidates, defined as those below 16 years as of September 30, 2026. Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser, stated that the results are for candidates, parents, and guardians to assess performance but do not qualify candidates for admission.

Only exceptionally performing underage candidates who meet stringent criteria, including a minimum UTME score of 320 and at least 80 percent in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) subjects, will be considered for admission. Candidates must also fulfill Post-UTME requirements and undergo a final assessment by experts.

The assessment process is ongoing, pending the release of the National Examinations Council (NECO) results, which are necessary for verification. JAMB will announce the final assessment date once the NECO results are available, emphasizing that admission will not be based solely on UTME scores.
