Jigawa State Launches Digital Revenue Collection Platform

Jigawa State has implemented a digital revenue collection platform to address revenue leakages in the informal sector, as announced on Wednesday. The platform, developed by eTranzact International Plc, automates revenue collection across livestock and grain markets, replacing manual processes with an electronic payment system.

Gabriel Essien, Deputy General Manager and Group Head of Public Sector Division at eTranzact International, stated that the platform is designed to enhance transparency and operational efficiency while providing real-time transaction monitoring. The platform integrates multiple digital payment channels, including mobile wallets and point-of-sale terminals, ensuring seamless and trackable payments directly into government accounts.

Nwabuez Ugwu, Regional Manager for Northwest at eTranzact, emphasized that the platform simplifies revenue administration and promotes trust between the government and taxpayers. Dr. Nasir Sabo Idri, Executive Chairman of Jigawa Internal Revenue Service, expressed confidence in the platform's user-friendly interface and its capability to deliver real-time reporting.
