Jigawa State Opens 2027 Hajj Registration with N7.5m Deposit

The Jigawa State Pilgrim Welfare Board has officially opened registration for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, announcing an initial deposit requirement of N7.5 million for intending pilgrims. Ahm Labbo, the Director General of the board, disclosed this during a meeting at the board's headquarters in Dutsin-Ma.

He warned that the registration window will close in 87 days, urging residents to act quickly to secure their seats and avoid last-minute rushes. The board aims to learn from the challenges faced during the 2026 Hajj exercise, particularly regarding late payments and incomplete documentation.

Labbo praised Governor Umar Namadi for his continuous support, which has been crucial for smooth Hajj operations. The board is mobilizing efforts across the 27 local government areas to ensure all allocated seats are filled and to sensitize the public about the registration deadline.

The deadline for registration set by the Saudi Arabian authorities is in September.
