Kano Pilgrim Board to Announce 2027 Hajj Deposit Soon

The Kano State Pilgrim Welfare Board, led by Director General Abubakar Ibrahim Matawal, is set to announce the deposit for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage soon. Preparations for the next pilgrimage are already in progress, despite the lack of official fare announcements.

Matawal disclosed this during a press briefing at the board's headquarters in Kano, where he reviewed the board's performance during the 2026 Hajj exercise. He noted that the board is taking time to complete necessary consultations before announcing the deposit, unlike other states that have already released their fare.

The 2026 Hajj operations were deemed successful, with 3,611 Kano pilgrims airlifted to Saudi Arabia and a 100% completion rate achieved. The board provided financial support to pilgrims and improved facilities at the Hajj camp.

Matawal emphasized the importance of teamwork and thanked the state government and stakeholders for their support.
