Jigawa State Pension Board Disburses N1.4 Billion to 564 Beneficiaries

The Jigawa State Local Government Contributory Pension Scheme Board announced the disbursement of over N1.4 billion to 564 beneficiaries. Dr.

Binyaminu Shitu Aminu, the State Executive Secretary of the board, revealed that the funds covered retirement benefits, death benefits, outstanding death pension balances, and payments to families of deceased workers. Retired civil servants received N1.191 billion, with N226 million paid to families of deceased workers.

Alhaji Abdullahi S.G. Shehu, the State Accountant General, praised Jigawa's pension system as one of Nigeria's best.

Governor Umar Namadi has committed to enhancing the welfare of retired civil servants, injecting N11 billion into the pension scheme. The board assured prompt pension payments, emphasizing regular monthly disbursements.
