Nnamdi Kanu Seeks Medical Transfer as Court Refers Case for Reassignment

Justice Musa Liman of the Federal High Court Abuja referred the case file of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), back to the Chief Judge for reassignment on September 15. Kanu, facing charges of treason and terrorism, filed a motion seeking transfer to the National Hospital in Abuja for urgent medical care due to his deteriorating health.

Kanu's counsel, Kanu Agabi SAN, emphasized the urgency of the situation, citing Kanu's worsening health condition. The motion was filed as Kanu's health took a troubling turn while in detention since June 2021.
