ADC Submits Atiku Abubakar, Amaechi for 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has successfully uploaded the names of Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate and Rotimi Amaechi as the vice-presidential candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal. This submission was confirmed on Wednesday morning by Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's public secretary, via social media.

The move is seen as a crucial step in the ADC's preparations for the 2027 general elections, aiming to present a credible alternative to Nigerians. Atiku Abubakar, who is the party's presidential candidate, is expected to win the primary elections, while Amaechi, a former Minister of Transport and two-term governor of Rivers State, is positioned as his running mate.

The party leadership's strategy appears to focus on balancing the ticket geographically, combining prominent political figures from the North East and South South regions. Additionally, the ADC's national leader, Seriake Dickson, noted the upload despite ongoing legal challenges regarding the party's registration status.
