PDP Appoints Dr. Aliyu as New Secretary of BoT

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, the former governor of Niger State, as the new Secretary of its Board of Trustees (BoT).

This decision was reached during an emergency meeting held in Abuja, where top party leaders gathered to review issues affecting the party's leadership and internal structure. The meeting, which took place over two days, concluded with a unanimous endorsement of Aliyu's appointment, as announced in a communiqué presented by the BoT Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, on Wednesday.

The appointment follows provisions in the PDP's constitution, specifically section 32, and was unanimously approved by the board. The discussions during the meeting also focused on recent political developments within the party and the need for unity among stakeholders to ensure stability and prepare for future political activities.

Aliyu, who has previously served two terms as governor, remains an active figure in party affairs.
