PDP Condemns Candidate Withdrawal Ahead of FCT Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) issued a strong condemnation regarding the withdrawal of its chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming Abuja local council elections. In a press statement released on Friday, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the party's National Public Secretary, described the withdrawal as a shameful act taken without the party's consent.

The PDP characterized this action as anti-democratic, warning that it undermines healthy electoral competition. The statement emphasized that democracy thrives on fair electoral contests and not on forced withdrawals.

PDP accused certain individuals within the party of promoting "voodoo democracy" aimed at maintaining control over the party and facilitating a smooth return to power for the presidency despite poor administrative performance. The party called on voters to protect their votes and ensure that results are transmitted immediately from polling units.
