Peter Obi Completes INEC Nomination, Demands Transparency

Peter Obi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), confirmed the successful completion of his nomination with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This announcement was made following a statement by Seriake Dickson, the party's national leader, who noted that Obi's name had been successfully uploaded to the INEC portal.

Despite a recent ruling by a Federal High Court in Lokoja that sought to deregister the party's logo, Dickson assured that the party had already filed an appeal to protect its status ahead of the 2027 general elections. In his statement, Obi raised questions about the current political class's ability to tackle Nigeria's pressing issues, including widespread insecurity and mass hunger.

He called for a shift in leadership mindset and emphasized the importance of transparency and public trust in the electoral process, urging the INEC to ensure that candidates demonstrate exemplary adherence to rules and provide full disclosure of their academic credentials.
