Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa of Federal High Court Dies

Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa, a distinguished judge of the Federal High Court, passed away on May 21, 2026, following a brief illness. The Federal High Court announced his death in a statement issued by Dr. Catherine Obi Christoph, the court's director.

He was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites. The court described Justice Yunusa as a dedicated and committed jurist who made significant contributions to the legal profession, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, members of the bar, and court staff.

The Federal High Court expressed its regret at the loss of Justice Yunusa, stating that he would be fondly remembered and greatly cherished by his colleagues and staff. The court extended condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for strength and fortitude for them.

They also prayed for Allah to forgive the late judge's shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdau.
