Kabir Ibrahim, Former AFAN President, Dies at 67

Kabir Ibrahim, a prominent figure in Nigeria's agricultural sector and former President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), died at the age of 67 in Istanbul, Turkey, following complications from prostate surgery. His death was announced on the LinkedIn page of the Nigeria Agriculture Business Group (NABG), where he served as chairman since 2024.

Ibrahim was a leading advocate for farmers and agribusiness in Nigeria for over two decades, having led PAN from 2008 to 2012 and AFAN from 2014 to 2025. He was born in 1959 in Faskari, Katsina State, and trained as an architect, earning his BSc and MSc degrees from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He founded Kebram Associates in 1987 and later established Kebram Farms Ltd and Kebram Agritrade Ltd. Ibrahim held several leadership roles, including chairman of the board of trustees of the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria and chairman of the Agriculture Trade Group at NACCIMA.

He is survived by his wife and six children, and tributes have poured in from across the agricultural sector.
