AGN Kaduna Seeks Government Support for Creative Economy

The Actor Guild Nigeria (AGN) Kaduna State chapter was recently inaugurated with Toka McBaror as the newly elected chairman. During the ceremony held on Monday night at Polo Signature Hotel in Barnawa, Kaduna, McBaror outlined an ambitious agenda to transform Kaduna into a leading filmmaking destination.

He emphasized the need for strategic government intervention to improve policies and foster collaboration to unlock the state's vast creative potential. McBaror noted that despite Kaduna's rich pool of creative talent, the film industry has faced stagnation due to inadequate structural support and misconceptions about the state's film sector, which is often overshadowed by Kannywood.

He urged the Kaduna State government to invest in modern filmmaking equipment and establish a central production support facility to reduce production costs and attract major film projects. McBaror also highlighted the importance of professional development and membership mobilization within the guild to enhance visibility and engagement in the industry.
