Defence Minister Musa Honored for Youth Mentorship in Kaduna

The Naomi Stephen Children Foundation honored Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd.), the Minister of Defence, with the Guardian of Peace and Youth Mentor Award at the inaugural Kaduna Summer Children’s Party and Talent Show held at Stemar Pinnacle Event Centre, Gonin Gora. The event, themed “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Through Play and Creativity,” aimed to foster creativity and confidence among children through games, talent displays, and presentations.

Mrs Victoria Panam Musa, Chairperson of the Civil Defence Officers Wives Association (CDOWA) in Kaduna state, received the Pillar of Unity, Progress and Child Advocacy Award. She emphasized the importance of providing children with opportunities to play and develop their talents, highlighting that raising responsible children is a collective responsibility.

Dr Alabi Usman Dauda from Kaduna Polytechnic discussed the significance of play and creativity in enhancing children's confidence and leadership skills. Comrade Shedrack Ovye Anzaku, the foundation's coordinator, stated that since its establishment in 2020, the foundation has implemented various programs, including feeding initiatives and support for orphanages, and plans to continue and expand its summer party initiatives.
