Kaduna State IGR Grows by N27bn Under Uba Sani

Jerry Adams, the outgoing Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), announced that the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) increased from N58 billion in 2022 to N85 billion in 2025. This growth is credited to the political will and non-interference of Governor Uba Sani.

Adams reported that the IGR rose from N62 billion in 2023 to N71 billion in 2024, with projections indicating a trend towards N120 billion and an average monthly revenue of N10 billion. He noted that previous revenue figures included significant amounts from back-duty recoveries and one-off sales, which did not reflect organic growth.

To address this, KADIRS shifted its strategy to expand the tax base and implemented a digitization initiative, including the PAYKADUNA portal, to improve revenue collection and transparency. Adams emphasized the need for sustainable growth rather than relying on temporary spikes in revenue.
