41 Suspects Charged in Kaduna Lynching Case of Ummulkhairi

Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, reported that 41 suspects have been charged with culpable homicide in connection with the lynching of Ummulkhairi, who was allegedly killed based on false accusations of attempting to kidnap children. The governor made this announcement over the weekend during a condolence visit to the deceased's family.

He stated that security agencies have made significant progress in the investigation, with 30 of the suspects also charged with unlawful assembly. Sani emphasized that the state government will not tolerate jungle justice and directed top government officials to visit the bereaved family.

He also assured support for Ummulkhairi's husband and four children, including sponsorship for their education. Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI) condemned the killing, describing it as barbaric and a dangerous sign of growing lawlessness, calling for a transparent investigation and prosecution of all involved, including any security personnel found negligent or complicit.
