Kaduna Police Condemn Mob Killing of Woman Accused of Theft

The Kaduna State Police Command condemned the mob killing of a woman accused of child theft in Maraban Jo. The incident occurred on a Sunday when the police received a distress call around 10:00 AM.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led officers to the scene to rescue the woman and move her to the police station for protection and investigation. However, a large crowd of residents later stormed the police station, overpowering the officers on duty, forcibly removing the woman from custody, and subsequently killing her.
The mob then set her body ablaze. The police command described the act as a barbaric assault and a serious violation of the rule of law, stressing that no individual or group has the right to take the law into their own hands.
Several suspects have been arrested, and a comprehensive investigation has begun. CP Rabiu Muhammad warned against mob violence and urged residents to report suspicious activities to security agencies.
