Kaduna Printers Call for Action on Power Outages

The Kaduna Master Printer Association raised significant concerns regarding persistent power outages that are adversely affecting printing operations across the state. These issues were discussed during their 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), where outgoing chairman Bello Ibrahim Ademola noted that unstable power supply remains a critical challenge for members.

The high cost of alternative energy sources, coupled with rising prices of printing materials, has significantly increased production expenses and reduced profit margins. Ademola highlighted the sector's challenges, including competition and the shift towards digital printing technology.

The association has made progress in strengthening international collaborations to promote professional standards. Newly inaugurated chairman Timothi Ayo Ojo pledged to enhance partnerships aimed at repositioning the association for sustainable growth and addressing insecurity affecting business activities.

The AGM brought together industry members and stakeholders to deliberate on the future direction of the profession amid prevailing economic realities.
