Kaduna State Unveils Youth Engagement Power Plan

Kaduna State is intensifying efforts to deepen youth inclusion in governance by unveiling the Open Government Partnership (OGP) youth engagement power plan. Barr Gloria Ibrahim, engaged in the initiative, emphasized the state government's commitment to bridging the gap between young people and governance.

She noted that youth inclusion is critical for sustainable development and stressed the need for a ministry dedicated to youth to institutionalize engagement. The OGP point of contact for Kaduna State, Tara Jeremiah, convened a dialogue to implement the youth engagement power plan, which aims to develop partnerships that ensure youth effectively mainstream governance.

The plan reflects the aspirations of young people and aligns with Kaduna State's youth policy. The state has made notable progress in youth inclusion, with platforms like the OpenGov Youth Innov Hub facilitating interaction between the government and youth across various sectors, attracting international recognition for its efforts in global OGP discussions.
