Kano Anti-Graft Agency Recovers Vehicles from Ex-Officials

The Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, led by Chairman Idu Yahaya, successfully recovered vehicles from several former officials, including Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, and Ibrahim Umar, former Commissioner for Security. This action followed the resignation of these officials under Governor Abba Yusuf's administration, which took place on January 26, 2026.

The commission had previously issued formal requests for the immediate return of government vehicles, but these requests were ignored, prompting the agency to initiate a recovery process. Yahaya stated that the agency's actions are not politically motivated but are aimed at ensuring accountability and protecting public resources.

He stressed that the retention of government property unlawfully would not be tolerated in Kano State, reinforcing the agency's commitment to transparency and accountability.
