Kano Considers Sudan's Request for Medical Projects

During a courtesy visit from Sudanese Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Abdelaal Haroon, Kano's Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo confirmed that the request for the temporary use of Nasarawa Hospital would be forwarded to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for consideration, alongside a proposal for land allocation to establish a Sudanese hospital and community office in Kano. Garo expressed condolences to Sudan over the ongoing conflict, emphasizing the tragic humanitarian situation and the historical ties between Kano and Sudan in various sectors.

He acknowledged the Sudanese government's provision of 15 scholarships to Kano students and expressed hope for increased support when peace is restored in Sudan. Ambassador Haroon highlighted the longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship between Nigeria and Sudan, urging the Kano State Government to approve the hospital's temporary use and land allocation to strengthen cooperation in healthcare and education.
