Kano Council Seizes Counterfeit Goods Worth N300 Million

The Kano Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has seized counterfeit goods worth over N300 million during enforcement operations conducted over the past three months. This information was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the agency's Director of Public Enlightenment, Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai.

During a meeting with staff, the Executive Secretary of the council, Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad, revealed the total value of the confiscated goods and urged staff to intensify their commitment to the council's mandate.

Dr. Muhammad reaffirmed the council's determination to sustain its campaign against the distribution and sale of fake and substandard products.

He stressed that offenders would not be spared and directed staff to enhance surveillance and intelligence gathering to identify individuals involved in trafficking counterfeit goods, ensuring their arrest and prosecution according to the law.
