Police Investigate Death of Kebbi University Student

The Kebbi State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Zaharadden Nuhu, a 300-level student at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, June 11, 2026, at a private compound occupied by students in Kalgo Local Government Area.

Preliminary findings indicate that Nuhu was found with injuries and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, where he unfortunately passed away despite receiving treatment. The police have stated that the assailants have yet to be identified.

Bashir Usman, the police public relations officer, urged residents of Kalgo and the university community to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information as the investigation continues.
